The 10th Edition of the Guide to School Nursing in Ohio
The Guide to School Nursing in Ohio is presented by the Ohio Association of School Nurses. This is a collaborative effort of many individuals with a vested interest in nursing services in our Ohio schools. It has evolved over the years and through many editions to reflect current Ohio school health laws and Scope and Standards of Practice of School Nursing as set forth by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), the Ohio Department of Education (ODE), the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN), The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) and the American Nurses Association (ANA). The intention of the guide is to be used for the benefit of school nurses and other individuals with an interest in school nursing practice.
The Guide to School Nursing in Ohio may be used to define best practices of Ohio’s licensed school nurses. Each section has been researched and written by qualified experts in the profession of school nursing and reviewed by each current Board member at the time of writing and at each subsequent editing. This GUIDE is to be used in conjunction with local health department practices and school district policies as a framework for the practice of school nursing in Ohio.
