Summer Camp Nurse @ Camp Ho Mita Koda
This is the world's first and oldest summer camp for kids living with Type 1 Diabetes and is located in Newbury, Ohio. The pay is $600 per week, plus free lodging, meals, utilities, and amenities. No experience in Type 1 Diabetes needed, as we will provide all training and have a doctor/provider on-site as well.

 

Our camp nurses work alongside other medical professionals to assist with:

• Administering and documenting insulin and other medications

• Checking blood glucose as necessary

• Helping campers during episodes of hypoglycemia

• Insulin pump site changes

And the best part:

• Participating in camp activities as appropriate to enhance the camper experience!

 
Here are the weeks we need nurses for:
Training: June 3rd, 4th, or the 10th
Session 1: June 11th - June 17th
Session 2: June 18th - June 24th
Session 3: June 26th - June 30th
Session 4: July 2nd - July 8th
Session 5: July 9th - July 15th

****If you know of any nurses that would be willing to sub in the area in which they live, please have them reach out to their school district's Nurse in charge or Human Resource office to inquire.  Many of our districts are looking for qualified subs and would appreciate any help that you can send their way. Requirements are an active Ohio RN license, RN and preferably BSN, and current nursing experience preferably with pediatrics, diabetes, or special education, and current CPR certification. ****
