Dear COASN Colleagues -
I hope the start of 2024 has been a good one for you. Echoing the theme of this year's annual OASN conference, Our Future is Bright, and we have many events happening over the next few months!
We are excited to share that registration is now open for the annual OASN conference and meeting, April 19-21st, at the Sawmill Creek Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. Early bird registration will close March 6, 2024, and regular registration will close on March 28, 2024. The 2024 conference team has put together a terrific lineup of speakers and social events, including Friday's School Nurse of the Year reception which will honor our very own COASN member, Virginia Shaffer. Click HERE to register!
Speaking of conference, COASN is responsible for providing a themed regional basket for the annual conference basket raffle. This year we will be repeating our popular Going to the Beach theme. If you would be willing to donate or secure a donation for an item for our basket (such as sunglasses, beach towels, sunscreen, etc.) please contact one of our COASN board representatives. We welcome any basket contribution!
COASN is also responsible for providing SIX items with a minimum value of $30 for the annual conference endowment raffle. If you can contribute to this, please contact a COASN board member.
Speaking of COASN Board members, we are in need of some new faces to serve on the Board in the following positions: President, Vice President, and President-Elect. Please reach out to a board member if you are interested. Serving on the board is a great way to get involved in your local professional organization, learn from some amazing fellow school nurses, and make wonderful new connections!
Looking ahead, please save the date for, Wednesday, May 8, National School Nurse Day, when we will be holding our spring gathering and meeting. More details will come!
We encourage and welcome your feedback and participation. Your insights and recommendations are invaluable as we work together to create a safe and nurturing environment for our students to thrive.
With deep appreciation and respect for all that you do, and excitement for the coming months' events -
Janice Walsh, COASN President
